Infants have extremely delicate skin. From birth the protective layer of a baby’s skin, known as the acid mantle, is not developed and therefore has very little natural protection, causing vulnerability to external factors which can then result in dryness and irritation.

A teenagers’ skin goes through significant changes during adolescence, which can impact its health and appearance. Hormonal fluctuations, such as increased testosterone or the menstrual cycle, can result in oily skin and potential acne breakouts.

Throughout adulthood, our skin undergoes various changes that can be influenced by factors such as pregnancy, hormonal fluctuations, environmental exposure and stress resulting in dryness, sensitivity, acne, inflammation and irritation of the skin.

As we grow older, our skin tends to become thinner and the importance of maintaining a healthy skin barrier becomes vitally important. Drier & more delicate skin offers less protection to external environmental factors and internal factors such as medication.
